Latest furniture designs from Bear Cabin Miniatures
AIM members Hywel and Julia Jeffreys of Bear Cabin Miniatures specialise in 12th scale miniatures for a Fantasy or Tudor theme. Hywel designs and creates his own unique furniture from hardwood, which he cuts, creates, carves and waxes to the point where he is happy to add them to his 'Rustic Woodland' range of dressed, and undressed furniture and accessories.
When Julia is not busy stitching tiny owl or cat themed samplers and cushions to match the fantasy theme, she happily helps to dress the furniture, using many of Hywel's handmade accessories, dragons and pumpkins!
Hywel and Julia of Bear Cabin Miniatures will be exhibiting at this Autumn's Miniatura Show on the 20th and 21st September 2014 on stand G10

Meet our Members - Tori West
I have been a professional miniaturist for the last 12 years, creating a wide variety of miniature dwellings, furniture, accessories, and animals. I began my career with animal figures, and was awarded IGMA Fellow membership in 2001 in that category. Although I still make some animal figures, my creative pathways have greatly diversified. At the dawn of the new millennium I found what I believe is the perfect craft medium, Creative Paperclay®. The majority of my miniature creations are now made with paperclay, though I also do metal work and wood carving. My husband, Steve Weller, and I have created a number of animatronic pieces in miniature, using his skill as an electronics designer. We have also produced a how-to DVD on using LEDs for miniature lighting.
I have been involved in teaching and doing an occasional show, although the majority of my work is handled through our web site. Some of my teaching experience includes seminars and full length classes at the Guild School in Castine, Maine, and a variety of workshops at the NAME National. In addition, I’ve given many classes to smaller groups and clubs throughout the southwest, and written magazine articles for some of the major industry publications.
In 2010 I am moving in yet another direction. Since I discovered, a few years ago, that I have a major fairy community living in my yard, I’ve been concentrating on creating fairy dwellings and household items for their use. I am also developing artwork depicting the fairies, photographing them, and learning about their lives and habits.

Meet our Members - Julie Campbell
I have been delighted by all things miniature for as long as I can remember and have always been very creative. When I put together my first dolls house kit I became hooked on the hobby and loved to make things to go inside my dolls house. So when I couldn’t find a doll I liked to live in the house, it seemed only natural to make one myself. I was so thrilled when I discovered polymer clay and soon made my first doll -- a strange looking baby whom I thought was absolutely beautiful!
A self - taught artist I learned from my mistakes! Each doll was better than the last and soon friends were encouraging me to sell my little characters. I sold my first doll on Ebay and was thrilled at the response. Now I make 1/12th scale character dolls and one of a kind fantasy sculptures and fairies.
Each doll is unique and created without moulds and I aim for as much realism as possible with very detailed features. I do take great care painting the dolls and the large expressive eyes have become my trademark. The clothing is hand sewn and I can create a doll from any period. I love to work from photographs to make portrait dolls. Most of the dolls are fully poseable, but I also create fully sculpted babies and fantasy dolls complete with settings.
I am proud to be an Artisan member of I.G.M.A. and am also a member of the British Toymakers Guild.
My dolls are available via my website, through Ebay , Etsy and fairs. I exhibit regularly at Miniatura, Scottish Miniatura, Kensington Festival and Pudsey fair in Leeds.. I am always happy to accept commissions. Just contact me to discuss your ideas for a doll and I can make them a reality.
Keep up to date with my news and see new dolls at my blog...

Meet our Members - Enchanticals
Enchanticals by Marsha J West
Welcome to Enchanticals! I am Marsha J. West, a miniaturist (I work in scales 1:12, 1:6, and 1:4), an artist in various mediums, including assemblages and mixed media, a writer, poet, and the creator of Enchanticals, my shop at Etsy.
Yes, Enchanticals is a shop, but it is more than that...it’s a place where, upon entering, you suspend your realities because this is where enchantment resides and is always afoot, along with magic, mystery, lore, whimsy, and fantasy. I create one of a kind fantasy, wizard, witch, fairy, spooky, and realistic enchanted handmade one-of-a kind creations in miniature (1:12) dollhouse scale such as hutches and other furniture, miniature bottles of potions, elixirs, miniature crystal balls, enchanted magic orb wands, elementals’ bottles, enchanted wands, miniature accessories, fashion doll vanities and jewelry, and much more… All of my enchanted creations are designed and handmade by me with a dollop of enchantment, a pound or two of imagination, and a touch of magic. I work predominately in 1:12 scale.
My pieces are made with mostly found objects and/or natural elements and are inspired by enchantment; fantasy; magic; runes; ancient texts and languages; Sacred Geometry; relics; time; fairytales; lore; enchanted woods; elementals; hidden and secret places; fog and myste; wizards; fairies; legends; mysteries unsolved; secrets, hidden places and things; nature; spooky and haunted cemeteries and places; birds, and butterflies.
So, please stop by and browse my shop, Enchanticals, and enjoy your stay. But, remember; leave your reality and seriousness at the door...
You can find Enchanticals or contact me at the following places:

Meet our Members - Sandy Calderon
Sandy Calderon
Hello, my name is Sandy Calderon. I have been making doll house people since 1975 when I became unhappy with my family of "bendy" dolls that resided in my dolls house. I have always loved to sculpt and started to work in porcelain in 1980 hand sculpting all my work. By 1991 I bought my first commercial doll mold and started casting dolls. Since that time I have more molds than I can count, I make my own molds, and still hand sculpt some dolls.
I love all things mini. I went to school for cosmetology in 85 and opened a nail salon where I painted small art work on fingernails. I won many awards for my tiny paintings such as the Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. I just love tiny detailed work. I do also work full scale and I work in the haunt industry making props for haunted house attractions. I love creating.
My dolls are mostly nude ready to dress dolls for other artist who love to create but don’t have the means to fire a doll, or the china painting. Special requests are done regularly in my studio. You will find everything from the standard Victorian lady, to fun brothel dolls, or fantasy fairies and mermaids, or even my silly naked men dolls- for those with a true sense of humor.
My website does have a limited amount of dressed dolls, and I have been known to do dolls right out of movies or TV, such as Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow and my Twilight dolls. These dolls are hand sculpted works of art as each one is a one of a kind doll and can not be duplicated as is.
Half and quarter scale dolls are also found on my site as well as a full page of just Witches and Halloween fun for your dolls.
I enjoy helping others learn the art, and I will happily provide anyone with the porcelain doll to fit the needs of the project they are working on. Enjoy my website and be inspired!
We also sell accessories, porcelain, and other doll making supplies to help you along the way.
