AIM Members News 2012 ~ Janet Granger's New Bolster Cushion Kits

Janet Granger has just launched a cute new doll's house bolster kit to her website at www.janetgranger.co.uk

 The bolster measures one and three quarter inches long and the tiny tassel measures just under half an inch! The bolster is to be stitched on 32 count silk gauze and each kit contains everything you need to complete one bolster; the silk gauze fabric, Anchor stranded cotton threads, stuffing, a suitable needle, colour block chart (the design is not printed on the fabric), and detailed instructions.

If you would like to see exactly how to put this kit together (including how to make the tiny tassels!), then take a look at the Tutorial on Janet's website at
http://www.janetgranger.co.uk/tut_bolster.htm, which shows you what to do.

The kit costs £12.95, and shipping is free worldwide.

AIM Members News 2012 ~ Dateman Books

Terry & Anne from Dateman Books have been working hard over the last few weeks to finish the first two of their commemorative books for 2012.  The first book is The Life and Works of Charles Dickens which commemorates the 200th anniversary of his birth.

The second book is RMS Titanic, commemorating the tragic maiden voyage of the ship. Terry and Anne explain that they are particularly pleased with this book. For the first time, they have added a flyout allowing them to show the ship spread over two pages which allows the reader to open them up and see the inside of the ship.

Both these books can be purchased online at;

AIM Members News 2012 ~ Keenderson Miniatures

Introducing AIM member Glen Anderson whose interest in miniatures goes back to his childhood, when he built model kits. As an adult, he had an interest in building furniture, but no room for a workshop, and so miniatures were a natural fit! After working on pieces as a hobby for several years, Keenderson Miniatures was formed in 2008.

Glen uses traditional cabinetry techniques to create miniature furniture and accessories. In the past, he has been inspired by Federal, Art Deco, Arts and Crafts and Modern Design, but it is the challenge of working in scale that always draws him forward to new projects.

Glen's work, with his amazing attention to detail can be found on his newly updated website at;
